Vehicles towed and/or relocated in the City of Charlotte can be towed by the City of Charlotte Park It! Program. Basically, in Charlotte , if a parking agent catches you parked illegally parked, he or she will give your vehicle a ticket. The agent will then request a wrecker to tow the vehicle. As a result, you will have to pay not only the ticket, but also ALL OUTSTANDING and unpaid parking tickets for a period of 90 days and any fees due to the wrecker company once your car is towed.

If your car was towed, two stickers should have been placed. One sticker was placed on the towed vehicle and it states the citation number, the reason for the car being towed and how to appeal the citation. The second sticker is placed if the car is towed. In that case, a sticker is placed on the meter adjacent to where the vehicle was parked before it was towed. It will have the reason the vehicle was towed, the way to appeal the citation, and the address and phone number of the wrecker company holding the vehicle. Look around the area where the vehicle was towed. The sticker left by the wrecker company after towing will often be attached to a nearby object.
SUMMARY: IN CHARLOTTE, IF YOUR VEHICLE WAS TOWED, IT WAS PROBABLY TOWED BY A WRECKER COMPANY!

Things to note about cars towed in Baltimore City:

CARS TOWED DURING RAVENS GAMES
My car was towed after a Raven’s Game. Where is it?
If your car was towed during a Raven’s game, there may be special towing procedures being followed by the Baltimore City Department of Transportation. During the football season, the Department of Transportation is being more aggressive in removing illegally parked cars. More likely than not, instead of getting a ticket, your car will go to the Fallsway Lot. Call the Fallsway Lot for the exact amount that you will owe.
The Fallsway Facility will be open for two hours after the end of each football game to allow motorists to claim vehicles that have been towed. They may not take cash. You may want to call.

If your car was illegally parked & your unpaid parking tickets in judgment (not new parking tickets) total more than one hundred one dollars ($101) you must pay the New York City Department of Finance all judgment debt and penalties before you can get your vehicle back.
According to the NYC.gov site, you must do the following:
Pay the judgment debt, fines and fees at the Finance Business Center.
Ask for a Vehicle Release Form.
Take the Vehicle Release form to the NYPD impound lot.
Pay towing fees and get your vehicle.
NYPD impound lots accept major credit cards, cash, certified check and money orders.
